This so called debate between Gerald and Tom is an example of an alarmist view, Gerald has answers more in line with religious scholars than scientific.
My personal belief is the pursuit of Net Zero will create a significant increase in poverty, famine, suffering and even death due to lack of heating & cooling. Due to famine & lack of affordable energy, we could see millions of people die in the next 24 months.
We are at the early stages and its going to get much worse, there is simply not enough investment in O & G.
Here are a view lines from Amin Nasar
Amin H. Nassar, CEO of Saudi Aramco, spoke plainly about the global energy crisis saying that "billions [of people] around the world now face the energy access and cost of living consequences that are likely to be severe and prolonged," and denouncing the shaming of oil and gas investors.
In fact, oil and gas investments crashed by more than 50% between 2014 and last year, from $700 billion to a little over $300 billion. The increases this year are too little, too late, too short-term.
I will quote your "short article" to rebuke any climate fear mongers on fb and twitters from now on.

Good for you, sending out copies to HOC. This is a very pro active move & one that is sorely needed.
