World leaders like to blame inflation on Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, but the real causes are stupid climate policies which have created a deep and growing shortage of fossil fuels and profligate sovereign spending funded by borrowing. Here is the current inflation rate by country as reported by Trading Economics.
With the exception of Argentina and Turkey where inflation is out of control and crushing their economies, western democracies have the worst inflation in decades while China, Japan, and Saudi Arabia have inflation under control. These latter three countries have in common the absence of silly climate policies and continue to make use of fossil fuels and nuclear. China is the largest importer of coal and liquified natural gas (LNG), Japan is a major importer of LNG and relies on nuclear, and Saudi Arabia is laughing all the way to the bank as demand outstrips supply and the Kingdom reaps enormous cash flows selling its oil at high prices.
Russia has plenty of oil & gas but is subject to global sanctions in response to the Ukraine war which manifest themselves in higher prices for most commodities not domestically produced so its high inflation rate is driven by geopolitics, not administrative stupidity.
Concerted efforts to rein in inflation will bring down the world economy and with it energy prices for a short period. Recession will not encourage added investment to expand fossil fuel supply so when inflation abates and the world economy begins to recover, watch as oil & gas prices surge again. Absent dramatic increases in investment in oil & gas and significant increases in production, this cycle will be with us for decades.
Will leaders of Western democracies wake up to the reality that the climate scam is nonsense? Not with progressives in office. Their delusion is close to religion. I have started sending a copy of Steven Koonin’s authoritative debunking of the climate scam to members of Parliament including all parties and members of Cabinet. I have sent 30 copies so far and the response is “crickets”. It makes me wonder if they can read.
I also emailed to all members of Parliament a copy of my short article applying the laws of physics to the Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) theory which demonstrates that CO2’s contribution to warming is immaterial and while ~60 rejected the email outright over 170 Parliamentarians sent an automated response acknowledging receipt. Since then, you guessed it, “crickets”. I also sent a copy to climate activist Gerald Kutney through Twitter whose response was to ignore the content of the article and launch a personal attack on me. Kutney has a consulting business dependent on promoting the validity of AGW and is incapable of dealing with the implications of the laws of physics despite his PhD in Chemistry which apparently took him only 9 years to complete.
Kutney attacks anyone who is skeptical of the climate change theory including former head of the MIT faculty of atmospheric science and Nobel laureate Richard Lindzen who actually knows something about climate.
Kutney, a Canadian, is part of the propaganda machine that infests the West with his daily Tweets promoting AGW and attacking anyone who disagrees rather than engaging with the physics. Kutney has been vacuous, inconsistent and bombastic in his Twitter feed, laughable really. Whoever pays him should get a refund.
Like Kutney, when faced with reality, our democratic leaders run and hide and double down on the crap they have been spouting for the past decade, incapable of admitting they were simply misinformed and changing course. That is the real disease in Canadian politics - a lack of intellectual honesty.
I will quote your "short article" to rebuke any climate fear mongers on fb and twitters from now on.

Good for you, sending out copies to HOC. This is a very pro active move & one that is sorely needed.
