The man-made global energy shortage is the real crisis and the pretense that tinkering with fiscal and monetary policy will remedy the depression that is coming is nonsense
Agree nuclear is a long term option. New capacity is decades away. But fossil fuels remain an option and will gain traction once the world wakes up to the reality that CO2 is not only harmless but dangerously low in the atmosphere today.
Nuclear is the only option. We need 2000 Two Gigawatt Nuclear facilities under construction now.
When i read the details on Moltex Energy's web site, it give me optimism.

I’ve read books by Steven Koonin, Bjorn Lombard, Epstein, Roy Spencer and my town (Comox Valley) author Patrick Moore.
I have followed the cancellation of Peter Ridd & Susan Crock.
Peter explains in his book, the only people that speak up about climate is limited to people willing to retire.
Thanks for your work on sub stack.
The key reason I want nuclear to expand is to reduce our rate of use of petroleum allowing future generation to enjoy this amazing resource.
You cite " depression that is coming" and not just a recession. This one time, I hope you are wrong.
Economics is often referred to as the "dismal science". Unless governments act to increase fossil fuel output materially, I am not optimistic.
