Trudeau immigration policy is not for the good of this country, it is 100% for votes and pop up the fake GDP. You have to live in a big city like Toronto to appreciate the headaches mass immigration created for existing residents competing for housing , education, medical, traffic, etc etc. Zero infrastructure to keep up. The only one benefitting are property developers and owners.
If the Liberals had put a fraction of thought into balancing immigration with fiscal and employment policy we'd be in a far better position. Canada can easily grow it's population but really, what's the point. The federal government as well as some provincial and most municipal governments work hard to keep the bureaucracy intact which prevents the real economy from growing. The hoops businesses have to go through to take on even the simplest project make it uneconomic to a large degree so in large part businesses are just staying static. Which really means slowing. The Liberals have to be tossed out before the country goes broke or disintegrates. They've been an unmitigated disaster.
Couldnt disagree more, some immigration sure why not, but throwing open the doors creates many problems that cant be managed. I also cant think of one place which has turned out well in the last 50 years. Crime is more of a problem, cant get a doctor, hotels are full of people funded by the Government, so prices high and tourism is suffering, education is broken etc etc.
We have so many labour saving devices and so many jobs off shored do you really need more people?. I have seen too many abuses of the system, and many of the people arriving are takers, its a net negative. Encouraging more births might make sense. I understand why people want to come to Canada for 6 months of the year, OAS, free medical, cheap university, but we see these things disappearing for people with only 1 citizenship, its hard enough to fund the people living here, with out millions more.
Im looking at 2nd citizenship, but there is a cost usually, $250K us and zero benefits, Canada hands them out for free with lots of benefits.
Further, I know people who bring young pregnant women from their country and board them in their basement until they have their baby.. Can Canada afford it, I think we are close to a major debt crisis, and this is not helping..
BTW, many people getting rich off the people being brought it, the debt goes to Canada, the payments and they are large go to the wheeler dealers....
We can see the mess in Europe, eg Sweden is the rape capital of Europe, a crime almost unknown 50 years ago, these are some of the unintended consequences.
Corruption used to be low in Canada, its has grown tremendously, people who grew up with corruption bring their beliefs with them, another unintended consequence, more and more, Canadians tend to accept some corruption these days, only getting worst. Corruption is the nbr 1 problem with having a middle class, it destroys it...
Frankly, its pretty easy to open up the doors, present a bunch of gifts and people will come.....
(There are immigrants today in Canada for 10+ years who have never worked, (why bother, its hard to learn a language and get up early, when welfare and other benefits are so good)
Giving stuff away costs lots of money.
Where Im living, just the homeless are costing $30K per person per year, but better facilities and services are being built, I joke that i should become homeless to get a doctor, I cant get one, but they actually do house calls to the homeless. It reminds me of the movie, field of dreams, "Built it and they will come"
I spent time homeless many years ago, never for more than a month or two, but back then generally I couldnt do it in the open as Id get arrested for vagrancy and get 24-48 hours in jail. But homeless people all talk(then and now) to find out what its like in places, and what's available for free of course...
I do not believe Trudeau has implemented the Liberal immigration policy to balance the age demographics. I am cynical and will continue to believe he has excess empathy and is well aware that immigrants will probably vote Liberal.
I firmly believe that no nation should ever immigrate more the 1% of its population per year. For Canada, that's 400,000, that's it. This is a assimilation issue, and not housing issue.

Do you really want Canada to become a "world power"?
