We have a major productivity problem which needs risk capital invested to fix . But investors lack confidence in the Canadian ineptocracy.
As you say Michael, Canadians also don’t invest effort into learning what is happening to them . So it will be up to kitchen table issues to cause voters to throw the bums out .
Trudeau economics is based entirely on irresponsibly high immigration and excessive government spending. Both will provide an impressive cherry picked national GDP figure, but behind the headline number is a nation with a diminishing living standard and many families and individuals struggling to pay for the basic necessities.
A pet peeve, many folks come from countries where corruption is second nature, unfortunately they bring this culture to Canada, in the long past it was God save the queen, honest and working hard, second nature. Now its how to make a buck and who cares what you do, as long as unlikely to get caught.
FWIW, new truck drivers from countries where there is no snow with little training are causing many accidents around Brockville. I know someone who came out of retirement to make millions (likely exaggerating) however lots of GDP, new vehicles, hospital work, ambulance, fireman, tow truck, insurance, body shop etc etc great for more GDP. I mentioned many hotels full of new Canadians, benefits, job creation to look after them etc etc Its Great for the GDP... I imagine the odd funeral home too, but it helps the GDP!!!
Our Govt is saying how great the GDP is, they should mention the growing debt, federally well over 1 trillion, wow, great if you like interest...
All the money spent on hotels etc etc etc is what is adding to GDP, it impoverishes the middle class and will make everyone depending on the Govt handouts. Im glad to see you questioning the policy, in the past you seemed gung ho for unlimited immigration..

Michael, I agree with your conclusions on the Liberals. I have had it with the Liberal/NDP tyranny. Keep up the good work
Thanks for the clarity .... I preder DIE to DEI but that's just me ... the productivity is still a Canadian problem
