America has been in trouble since the ill-conceived Great Society programs of the 60's that began a wave of Liberal giveaways that hooked huge chunks of the population on the dole. Free housing, free healthcare, free food, payments for children, school lunches (breakfasts, lunches, dinners) after school care regardless of employment status of the parent were all initiated then. Now generations of largely black people in the big cities, have never known incentive to work with their family structure destroyed. What's worse is the Socialist takeover of the public schools through the unions have destroyed education in this country. We are largely a nation of imbeciles, just go into any goverment building and try and have a conversation.

Sorry, to your point. I think immigration to Red states is driven by people recognizing there is a cliff coming in the Blue states and not wanting to be around for the implosion.

It is a disaster also for the most part forcing the break up of families(Then no male in the household or lose the payments). The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Not much better in Canada, lots on the dole and many trying to figure out how, its so easy to get Govt money we cant get people to work in Tim Hortons, pays more to sit at home, so bring in immigrants who also either go on the dole or work their way up and end up owning the Tim Hortons.... Able body people doing nothing is not good for them, nor for the country.... My older sister figured out how to get on govt assistance, has a nice apartment about 150 meters from U of T, trendy area, must be market value $2500. Its getting older and they remodel it from time to time, was almost new when she moved in, in 1979, never worked since then... She didnt like getting up early to go to work, cant say I blame her, I never liked getting up early either :)

One thing I know there are very few climate refugees fleeing from Florida to Buffalo :(

It is not clear to me that the mover will change their voting habits. We’ve seen a marked change in Calgary city political choices in the last 25 years, roughly aligning with major companies moving admin offices from eastern Canada to Calgary. A migration or a takeover?

Weather plays a big role in Florida, Arizona, in Texas and Florida many companies have moved there fleeing high taxes, and generally many employees will move with their companies. How many hockey players would gladly trade a lower salary to play in Florida over Montreal? Perhaps why Canadian teams dont do too well. Someone like Joe Rogan (and many others) left for Texas to safe over $10 million on his Spotify deal, cant blame him... Many retirees trade high taxes and cold weather for a nice retirement, many in Canada might think Toronto has a decent climate, but believe me, 1 hour away the people living in Buffalo are the climate refugees fleeing the Climate change, moving south if they can...
