It has been my privilege to be your neighbour, tennis partner and work with you for over 30 years. I can attest that your riches have been gotten through intelligence, straight shooting and ethics of the highest order.

Amazing accomplishments, times were much tougher then, but much simpler too. One thing I've learnt, there were no lazy farmers. They either froze or starved... My neighbor who grew up in rural Ont was also in the RAF, at 85 he does more in one day than I did 30 years ago, stories of 16 hour hard physical work days when he was 13 and younger, and the trials and tribulations of moving around when in the military. Pretty neat guy!!

What a wonderful, sad but inspiring story of your life. It toughened you for sure. Thanks for your story. I still hope to read more of the details one day in your autobiography.

Mr. Blair, thank you for this article. I had always wanted to learn more about your life. For me, you are a hero.

One potential suggestion for another article of yours. I would love to read about your daily routine as an manager and investor. How were you able to manage your tasks? Do you use any technique?

Thank you very much and wish you good health!

An inspiring story, and one that could have probably only taken place in a few countries, Canada being one of them. I've never been as poor as you started out being, perhaps that left me without the fire in the belly to have acheived the heights you did. Being poor seems to drive people in one of two directions, to remain poor and not strive to better yourself, taking what comes, or to outwork and outthink everyone else to get ahead. You have a life well-lived and a bounty to pass on to your descendants. Blessings all.

Well done! Especially when faced with federal leftist ( anti business) policies during that time.

Inspiring biography but young people in similar situations growing up today will not have the fortune of a growing economy thus their success will be limited with competition abound.

Quite honestly, I think opportunity is always there no matter the generation. I think what inspires me with this story is the grit, ability to work hard and leverage personal intelligence to accomplish above average results. Many people work hard etc, but very few people become super performers. It’s a wonderful story of personal success over humble beginnings.
