Climate nutters in Washington and Ottawa don't have a clue

CO2 is harmless, but even if it did cause warming, their policies are inane

The laws of physics lay waste to the Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) theory¹ but for the purposes of this article, assume CO2 did have a role in climate change and lower emissions would ameliorate the risks. I gag writing that assumption since many readers will jump on it as if it is an admission of the impossible.

Biden and Trudeau governments look to Electric Vehicles (EV’s) as the saviour of the planet and think natural gas is as much a problem as oil, going so far as Biden thinking of passing laws outlawing natural gas stoves. Reality never seems to set in. Dollar for dollar, the most cost-efficient way to lower CO2 emissions is Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) with Gas and Renewable Diesel not far behind. Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) works but provides no benefits other than finding a place to hide CO2 for a period of time.

I recall Trudeau saying there was no business case for LNG. Go figure.

Wind, solar and nuclear are not cost effective either to reduce emissions or to produce electricity. “Reforestation” is a laughable term since Canada has billions of acres of boreal forest and Canadian forests are growing, not shrinking. Nuclear ranks about the same as coal with CCUS. Trudeau favorites like Hydrogen and EV’s are virtually useless.

Canadian voters elect Liberals and NDP leftists who spout politically correct virtues, accomplish little, and enact policies that damage Canada. I can’t wait until the electorate gets tired of high interest rates, rampant inflation, massive government deficits, over-regulation of industry with unconstitutional environmental legislation like the recently panned Impact Assessment Act which didn’t survive a Supreme Court review, and pathetic foreign policies. Maybe then they will dumpt the toxic Liberals - likely soon enough - since the current trends just get worse with time and there are no signs of common sense emerging in Liberal Ottawa.
