Western Democracies are failing. Progressives are the reason why
Data on "climate policies" make the point
Natural gas is one of the most effective fuels for electric power generation, home heating, cooking, outdoor barbecues and as a petrochemical feedstock. The economies of Western democracies would be worse without natural gas. But Joe Biden, Justin Trudeau, Rishi Sunak, Olaf Scholz and Immanuel Macron want to curb its use, pushing their specious narrative that CO2 causes global warming and natural gas and methane are harmful.
A brief look at who produces the most natural gas is worth noting. Over half of the world’s 142 petajoules of natural gas is produced in totalitarian states and they have not plans to produce less. United States and Canada are enacting policies that target less natural gas usage - bans on natural gas fired stoves; carbon taxes on natural gas as a fuel; and, in California a coming ban on natural gas power portable electrical generators (essential in a State incapable of providing reliable power).
Biden, Trudeau and the other leaders of democracies ignore the laws of physics nad prefer political science to reality. Climate fears are political capital and help keep them in power by frightening citizens.
Dr. John Clauser, who in 2022 received the Nobel Prize in Physics, had this to say:
“The popular narrative about climate change reflects a dangerous corruption of science that threatens the world’s economy and the well-being of billions of people. Misguided climate science has metastasized into massive shock-journalistic pseudoscience. In turn, the pseudoscience has become a scapegoat for a wide variety of other unrelated ills. It has been promoted and extended by similarly misguided business marketing agents, politicians, journalists, government agencies, and environmentalists. In my opinion, there is no real climate crisis. There is, however, a very real problem with providing a decent standard of living to the world’s large population and an associated energy crisis. The latter is being unnecessarily exacerbated by what, in my opinion, is incorrect climate science.”
Dr. Clauser joins a growing number of Nobel laureates who dismiss the anthropogenic global warming theory (AGW) as nonsense, basing their conclusions on the simple application of the laws of physics which do not depend on government grants or political support. Other physicists have published papers in scientific journals and universities that set out the reality, also ignored by politicians. Cornell University published a short article (only 26 pages) which applies nothing more elaborate than laws of physics to drive a coffin nail into the climate rhetoric. The paper’s summary states;
Once CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere become saturated, they are no longer capable of any warming. Earth is long past the point of saturation, which occurs at approximately 300 ppm. But Biden and Trudeau won’t give it up.
Interestingly, I arrived at the same conclusion using no more than the laws of thermodynamics in an article I published on Substack entitled Basic Heat Loss Theories Demolish the Climate Change Nonsense. It is remarkable to some that my calculation of climate sensitivity to a doubling of CO2 levels is virtually identical to Schindknecht, but it should not be. The laws of physics are an integrated set of laws devoid of internal inconsistencies and it would be remarkable if I had come to a different conclusion..
I had quipped a few year’s ago that a future Nobel Prize winner would demonstrate that AGW is impossible, be ignored by leftists, and have to await history books that will follow the final abandonment of the climate nonsense to gain recognition.
In 2024, Americans will have a chance to dump Biden and may return Donald Trump to office. If they do, Trump (for all his many faults) will put an end to the leftist climate crap quite quickly, help rebuild American energy independence, and start to wake up the American public to the abuse of science to promote climate change fears to rally support for global socialism. We may have a similar opportunity in Canada if Pierrie Poilievre becomes Prime Minister since he has promised to build pipelines and encourage oil & gas development, necessary steps to build a stronger Canadian economy and contribute to the development of third world countries not as blessed with fossil fuels as Canada is.
I can’t wait.
This is so clear. I like it. I will save this article to send to others. How did we come to be governed by assholes? I'm nervouse about the upcoming "elections". Conservatives cannot become complacent.
