The State of Disunion Speech
A grumpy old man faces off against a young housewife
Joe Biden demonstrated that he hasn’t forgotten how to mislead listeners and shout party rhetoric at millions of viewers of the State of the Union speech, generating rounds of applause from the left of the aisle with claims he has generated jobs, reduced the federal deficit, brought inflation under control, and will conquer cancer. Senator Katie Britt didn’t grace the halls of power with her presence but gave a powerful rebuttal from her kitchen table that did not stray from the facts that are obvious to every American:
The cost of living has risen faster than wages for most Americans
The level of credit card debt is at an all time high
The Southern border is rife with illegal entrants, cluttered with fentanyl and controlled by cartels that abuse women at will
Crime is out of control across America
Federal debt levels and deficits are unsustainable
World leaders laugh at Biden
Biden has failed as President
Fifty years in politics taught Biden to ignore facts and assert whatever seems to appeal to the voting base he needs to retain power, with outright lies part and parcel of his schtick. He said if elected he would bring back Roe v Wade, a bit of chore unless he finds himself on the bench of the Supreme Court since its not up to the Administration to change the Constitution.
Despite calling Laken Riley “Lincoln Riley” Biden was able to more or less remember the name of the young woman murdered by an illegal alien a short time ago, but stumbled over his rhetorical question “How many Americans have been murdered by illegals?” [ or something like that] effectively admitting the people crossing the border are doing so illegally, sure to vex his progressive contemporaries in Congress. It is amost certain tomorrow’s breakfast television will see Joe Scarborough describe the State of the Union speech as one of the most powerful and effective speeches in U.S. history, to be echoed by Jake Tapper, Rachel Maddow and the plethora of mainstream media socialists who climb on the Democrat bandwagon at every opportunity regardless of the facts, and see Fox News anchors pan the speech as evidence Biden is losing it. In fact, Biden kept it together for the long speech, rarely fumbled his lines, and showed he is both mentally and physically alert even if hopelessly wrong.
It was advertised to be a unifying speech, but since the major topic was an attack on Donald Trump and the half of Americans who support his candidacy for President, it was a divisive speech that did nothing to unify America. It looks to me like Biden’s platform for November will be re-run of his successful 2020 campaign strategy - stay home in the basement and remind voters that he is not Trump. It won then and could well win again with the support of unions, teachers, academics, and other socialist groups. For left leaning voters, being “not Trump” is enough and no presidential debates or policy differences matter.
A unique feature of American democracy is that the number of congressional seats is based on the population of each district including people who are not citizens an those present illegally, so the Biden administration’s policy on immigration is to let as many people into the country as possible and try to locate them in the areas where Democrats are in the majority so there are more seats in Congress and more Democrats get elected. It is a simple and effective strategy with some estimates that the millions of illegals let into the U.S. under Biden will add about twenty seats to Congress, most of them likely to go to Democrats.
When Reagan and Kennedy were presidents I used to like the State of the Union speech since both of these presidents (despite being of opposite parties) spoke directly to the issues that concerned people and as far as I can recall, were truthful and direct in their speeches. Those days are gone.
American is hopelessly divided and November won’t change that regardless of which old man gets elected. Katie Britt would make a better President than either of them.
Indeed, Bloomberg called the speech "spirited."
#genocidejoe will send another 100 billion weapons to Israel and 100 billions more to Ukraine to prolong the killings.
Vs No New Wars during Trump.
But ill-informed Canadian think Trump is the bad guy.
The dementia meds seemed to be working surprisingly well. Should we be buying those stocks?
