The RCMP is AWOL

Liberals pretend SNC Lavalin didn't involve corruption and the RCMP is no help

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (“RCMP”) released a statement that they are not proceeding to investigate political interference in the SNC Lavalin case owing to “insufficient evidence”. I am old enough to remember when an RCMP investigation was intended to surface evidence, not pretend there is none.

Jody Wilson-Raybould, then Minister of Justice, stood up to Justin Trudeau over his overt interference in the SNC case. It cost her her job and led to a political hubbub which, like every issue involving our Prime Minister (who has seen his personal fortune increase ten fold while in office - Sophie must be very frugal) was dismissed by the Liberal Party and swept under one or more of the Persian rugs that adorn Trudeau’s various residences.

The RCMP used to be an elite investigative body Canadians could rely on to get to the bottom of serious crimes regardless of who committed them. What we have today is a politicized arm of the administrative state that avoids doing its job to protect the Prime Minister and the PMO from criticism despite the obvious hypocrisy. The mass shooting in Nova Scotia saw the Prime Minister try to use the event for political gain and then saw RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki sacrifice her personal integrity and her job to keep Trudeau out of the press for his political grandstanding over the tragedy.

Maybe Michael Duheme will be less inclined to KowTow to Trudeau. Time will tell but at least he has a long a storied career as a police officer and no known ties to the Liberals. But his “concern over foreign election interference” hasn’t yet surfaced the evidence we all know exists that the Trudeau Liberals ignored the Chinese interference since it provided financial support to the Liberal government. Nice words don’t solve crimes. His complaint that the “intelligence” from CSIS cannot be used as “evidence” rings hollow but demonstrates that CSIS (like the CIA in the U.S.) is just another politicized organ of the Liberal party.

I used to think the “deep state” was a uniquely American problem with clear evidence of political bias in the FBI, CIA and many administrative law institutions in our southern neighbour . Now I see that disease creeping into Canada under Trudeau.

Canadians need to wake up and vote for a replacement for the Liberal government. This will just keep getting worse if we do not.
