You only need to watch five minutes (if you can stand it) of Morning Joe, Rachel Maddow, The View, Don Lemon, or Chuck Todd to witness first hand the outright hatred for former President Donald Trump among mainstream media voices. These so-called journalists are apologists for Joe Biden’s corruption and reek with disdain and contempt for Trump, creating nuisance stories out of thin air to malign him. Trump’s comment that the automotive sector would endure an economic bloodbath if the Democrats retained power became Trump promoting political violence. The Russian collusion hoax was their stock in trade not just before it was debunked but for months thereafter. Crack addiction and criminal behaviour by Hunter Biden and direct links of corruption to his father are excused as right wing misinformation.
The outpouring of bile from this group and their ilk knew no bounds when NBC made the mistake of hiring former RNC chief Ronna McDaniel and attacked their own bosses in their zeal to stifle any attempt to have a conservative voice appear on NBC. NBC cowardly terminated McDaniel. These anchors pretend to be journalists but are in reality leftist shills earning millions for promoting leftist ideology.
These media elites have large audiences and are relentless with thei anti-Trump propaganda, apparently thinking an autocratic socialist state would be better for American than a constitutional republic envisioned by the founding fathers. You would think their incessant attacks on Trump would relegate him to the back rows of political life and in their dreams he would go to jail.
But Trump remains very popular. Why?
I recently spent an hour or so listening to a year old interview of famous journalist Bob Woodward by Steve Pakin before a live audience. Woodward outed the misbehaviour of Richard Nixon leading to his resignation and was eloquent in his dialog with Paikin, making it clear he had complete access to then President Trump and spent many hours talking to Trump both in the oval office and on the telephone from his home at all hours of the day or night. It was a terrific interview, well hosted by Paikin (who is a terrific host) and brought out a great many insights into Trump who Woodward eventually concluded was a threat to democracy.
Woodward’s views abandoned the objectivity he is renowned for and in my opinion were colored by his desire to sell his then new book about Trump. Trump put no restrictions on Woodward and Woodward had taped and written records of all of their exchanges, and I have no doubt that reference to those discussions were accurate when Woodward referred to them in person in the interview or quoted from them in his book. As I listened, I became convinced I knew why Trump was popular.
First, Trump (unlike Biden or any other Democratic leader in recent history) gave complete access to Woodward and permitted him unrestricted use of what he heard and taped. Trump is precisely what he appears to be, unvarnished and unafraid, able to risk the public having complete access to his thoughts, ramblings, prejudices, and person. That is what people want in a leader. Openness.
Second, Trump didn’t care if Woodward profited from their discussions.
Finally, and most importantly, while it alarmed Woodward it impressed me that Trump ignored inputs from those Woodward described as “experts” including now famous Anthony Fauci, and chose to downplay COVID 19 rather than declare a national emergency which Woodward thought more appropriate. Woodward seemed to ignore the fact that Trump did everything necessary to accelerate the development of a vaccine, and that the advice Fauci was giving was in retrospect wrong on pretty well every level. Lockdowns were unnecessary and harmful, school shutdowns harmed children, masking was useless, and the cheap and reliable alternative therapies Trump suggested (Ivermectin and Hydroxychoroquine) have since been proven effective against COVID while the claims by Fauci that vaccinated people would not attract that disease were not only false, the vaccines damaged many Americans who were healthy and at little risk to COVID.
Ivermectin had value during the very early stages of infection.
Hydroxychloroquine had value as a prevention of COVID infection, but not as a treatment.
For otherwise healthy people, the mRNA vaccines exposed them to needless risks of myocarditis, pericarditis and Guillain-Barre syndrome.
The mRNA vaccine was an extraordinary development in a short timeframe and when used to try and protect elderly people and those with co-morbidities played a key role in keeping the carnage from COVID-19 in check. But for young people who were otherwise healthy, the vaccine added risk rather than benefit.
The Great Barrington Declaration advocating lifting restrictions on lower risk populations and concentrating protective steps on those most at risk was ignored by Fauci and vilified by leftist media, but history has proven it a better approach.
Trump trusted his instincts, not his advisors, and history has shown he was right. More importantly, he had the strength of character to make decisions that were unpopular and not be pushed into decisions by legions of so-called “experts”. That is what people want in a leader.
Sure Trump made mistakes. He is human. But he didn’t hide behind “advice” or try to rationalize his decisions by blaming others. He made his decisions and stood by them. That is what people want in a leader.
This is why Trump is leading in the polls in most states. Americans want a leader and Biden is little more than a puppet of his handlers, incapable of making any decisions or of making himself available to journalists like Woodward like Trump has done.
American politics has become a blood sport. Democrats reckless spending, suppression of free speech, “lawfare” abuse of the justice system to attack Trump, climate policies devoid of substance that are inconsistent with laws of physics, and massive federal debts are the real threats to democracy, not Trump, and the Davos elites that want Biden to keep power are driven by the transfer of wealth to them from ordinary Americans that Biden’s inane policies have abetted. Want details? Read Vivek Ramaswamy’s book “Woke, Inc.” and learn how the left is destroying the American dream.
Anyone who had watched any Trump rally would know how popular he is at the Grassroot level.
The dumb and dumber canadian (most) hates Trump. The only party that spoke up for the "anti-vaxxer" was Maxime Bernier. It turned out these people who chose medical autonomy my body my choice were the smart brunch.
No New War during Trump.
