The climate nonsense is in high gear

There is just too much political capital in the scam for leftist governments to give it up

It has been a difficult year for anyone living next to a forest. Climate nutters have been setting forest fires everywhere, their arson driven by a belief they can persuade everyone that a trace amount of CO2 in the atmosphere is the cause. The silliness is out of all proportion to reality. Imagine setting fires that cause widespread havoc and cost people their lives and livelihoods just to fuel a narrative that is itself destructive to civilized society.

Canada’s RCMP have charged one woman with 32 counts of arson for setting forest fires and arrested another man for setting numeous fires. These cases are widely reported and date back to 2021.

This year is no better. A 29-year old named John Cook was arrested in May 2023 for setting fires in Alberta not only to forests but also to a church and a post office. This is the state of Canada under Justin Trudeau whose incessant prattling about climate change and relentless blaming it on a tiny increase in atmospheric CO2 levels has driven many people mad, either with fear of an “existential crisis” or a desperate need to persuade others of the “climate change” mania.

The scientific evidence, as confusing as it may be to many, points to fewer forest fires in recent years, not more, and those fires are uncorrelated with CO2 levels in the atmosphere, with the evidence pointing to millions fewer square kilometers of forests lost to fire as CO2 emissions rose.

Now scientists are saying climate change is causing fewer forest fires.

Climate nutters are everywhere now. The glue themselves to fine art, block roads, dress in glaring red dresses and call themselves “extinction rebellion”, protest pipelines, attack construction crews, and generally wreak havoc on anything to do with fossil fuels, then retire home in the gas guzzling SUV or fly to a U.N. sponsored COP [choose your number, since like iPhones there will always be another] in their private jets and give impassioned speeches about how someone else should live in an impoverished state so they can feel good about “saving the planet”. The planet is in no danger from CO2. Oddly, it might be in danger if the rallying cry of “NetZero” were it ever achieved for without the 35 gigatons of fossil fuel emissions each year (about 10 ppm by volume or 7 ppm by mass of our 5.12e18Kg atmosphere) CO2 levels would fall 6 or 7 ppm by volume each year rather than rising 1-2 ppm by volume and wihin the alarmists lifetimes would drop below the 150 ppm by volume needed to support plant life. CO2 does not pose an “existential crisis” but NetZero might.

This mania is now out of control. California seeks to ban ICE vehicles and gas stoves but has an unreliable electrical grid and without ICE vehicles on the road the state will grind to a halt in every brown out. Biden wants to spend billions on “fighting climate change” which is not only not possible but also utterly foolish. The only sure outcome of the leftists climate policies is higher energy prices owing to a shortage of fossil fuel production and persistent inflation that will kill more livelihoods than climate change from any source.

The pace and breadth of climate alarms is mind-boggling. Here are some of the silliest.

You can’t make this shit up, but climate nutters do it every day.

Biden, Trudeau, Sunak, Macron, Scholz and a host of other leaders find “climate change” narratives keep citizens dependent on government so they keep promoting the scam. They have too much political capital invested in the climate narrative to face reality or tell the truth.

This is the sad state of Western democracies today and most are headed towards an authoritarian socialist regime with more restrictions on freedom, fewer opportunities for personal development, and an outright attack on capitalism.
