Nonsensical climate policies transfer wealth to developing countries
Which is what the U.N. and IPCC intended by promoting the specious AGW theory
After decades of Western democracies self-immolating with “climate change” policies that pretend CO2 causes catastrophic global warming, and trillions of dollars squandered on renewables, the “progress” the progressive leftist governments of Trudeau, Biden, Macron, Scholz and their ilk have just transferred billions and billions of value to developing countries who have expanded their use of cheap and reliable (and perfectly safe in respect of their lack of any impact on climate) fossil fuels. Here is a chart of the data from “Energy Minute”.
It is plain and obvious that global energy usage is growing and will keep growing as non-OECD countries keep growing using fossil fuels to supply their energy needs. The inane climate policies of the West have had two inescapable consequences - higher inflation, as their suppression of production of oil & gas has created a tighter supply-demand balance, and, enhancement of the growth prospects for the non-OECD nations who have benefited.
Was this an accidental outcome? Hardly. In the words of Ottmar Endenhofer while co-Chairman of the IPCC working group.
Climate change rhetoric has always been about promoting global socialism and never had anything to do with any real risk that fossil fuel use would cause global warming. We are now reaching the point where the climate cult is causing damage to major Western economies, particularly the U.K. and Europe, and the next few years will see the electorate toss out the leftists who hang on to their silly crusade and fail to abandon their snake oil in the face of the evidence. Trudeau and Biden are on their last legs and the next elections will be a step closer to bringing common sense back to the halls of power in Washington and Ottawa at least, although I expect similar outcomes in Europe over time.
Goodbye socialism, hello free markets. What a refreshing course correction that will be for Canadians.
Perhaps they are trying to send money to the 3rd world, but from what I can see is the vast majority is spent in the west on equipment, marketing, research, university studies, carbon payouts, hiring friends and family etc etc. I dont think Al Gore sent too many pennies from the billion he has made. I see most of it power, control and money.
The 3rd world as quality of life has improved things like air conditioners, refrigerators, electric or gas heat instead of burning dung. India, Vietnam and especially China have gone from burning dung to cell phones in a few decades. Nothing to do with climate change actions or money, the big improvements started in th 80's and 90's. They want the western life, countries who did get some money, like Sri Lanka, didnt do too well.
