Pierre Poilievre must be the most successful francophone Canadian at gaining respect in Western Canada. His common sense policies - develop our oil & gas industry, build pipelines to displace foreign oil, defund the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and build a stronger economy - are anathema to Justin Trudeau’s nonsensical policies based on frightening Canadians with the pretense that CO2 is harmful and that destroying Canada’s resource industry will save the planet from whatever apocalypse is in vogue among the AGW crowd these days.
It is refreshing to see a young, attractive and intelligent leader emerge whose claim to fame is not gushing teenage girls and the faux empathy for anyone that drips from Justin Trudeau who pretends he gives a shit about anyone but himself. For the first time in a decade, it is likely that Trudeau will end up facing an opponent who has all of Trudeau’s charm but none of his vacuous pretenses. Max Fawcett’s attempts to tar Poilievre’s clarity by comparing it to the record of Pierre Trudeau falls flat on its facts. Trudeau senior was in his heart a communist and his “nation building” was an attempt to rally support for a socialist Canada, a dream his son Justin Trudeau seems bent on today. Poilievre is the real deal and Fawcett’s attempts to rationalize Trudeau’s heavy handed response to a trucker protests as a limitation on freedom contemplated by the Canadian constitution is simply an effort to hollow out the Constitution to promote Trudeau’s image. Freedom of speech and assembly often make people uncomfortable, and in the case of protests that is the intent. Fawcett’s “journalism” is little more than his desire to build a platform to promote the specious climate change nonsense and justify Liberal talking points.
“Sunny days” Justin Trudeau’s future hangs in the balance and the massive crowds turning out for Poilievre suggest his future lies outside of Ottawa. Ordinary Canadians are beginning to see through Trudeau’s false front and the image of Gerry Butts is showing through Trudeau’s efforts to change Canada into an authoritarian socialist state where “identity politics” help control citizens by dividing Canadians into groups and pitting them against one another. I am old enough to remember when we had two genders, we didn’t think anyone had “white privilege” simply beause they were Caucasian, and we didn’t care what colour, religion or sexual orientation our neighbours were - they were just our neighbours.
The only thing that has changed since those halcyon days was the election of a Trudeau Liberal government using the diversion of “identity, diversity and inclusion” to sort Canadians into identity groups and pit them against one another based on specious claims of discrimination, racism, misogyny and pretty well any other vile epithet he could dream up, all the while claiming calamity awaits unless Canada destroys its vital energy industry and turns to a socialist Trudeau led government for salvation.
Time to put an end to this charade. Vote Trudeau out and embrace a restoration of Canada’s traditional values under Pierre Poilivre.
