More nonsense from Democrats unable to move on

I listened to Nancy Pelosi giving a speech today on the second anniversary of the January 6, 2021 incident in Washington where thousands of protesters (unarmed and in some cases wearing costumes) descended on the Capital to express their disappointment that the election of Joe Biden was corrupt. With the recent release of Twitter files orchestrated by Elon Musk, we now know just how corrupt that election was.

The DOJ, FBI and Big Tech firms like Facebook, Twitter and Google all acted to interfere in the election. FBI agents swore false affidavits and pretended the Hunter Biden story reported by the New York Post (one of America’s oldest newspapers) was “Russian disinformation”. Facebook suppressed comments on the evidence of Biden family corruption. Twitter’s “left wing” staff took extraordinary steps to suppress conservative voices. It is likely Biden had enough votes to win in any case, but there is no doubt that the actions of the FBI and Big Tech had some impact on the election outcome.

On August 24, 1814 Canadians and British troops attacked Washington D.C. and, among other things, set fire to the White House. President Madison and his wife fled the scene a few days before the attack.

The scene in 2021 wasn’t much different from the perspective of the cowardice of the left wing members of Congress and the Senate. AOC hid in a washroom. Nancy Pelosi cowered in pretend fear. Like rats leaving a sinking ship, Democrats fled the scene.

Now Pelosi (in her speech) called Capital law enforcement “courageous” and “heroes” when all they did was shoot unarmed and peaceful Ashli Babbit and ignore the reality that the agitator was not Trump but a man named Ray Epps (who has not been charged with any crime) who spent the day urging the protesters to occupy the Capital building. Who was Ray Epps and why hasn’t he been charged?

Pelosi knew the protest was coming. So why did she waive off the National Guard and take no steps to “protect the capital”? The answer is too obvious for mainstream media to investigate - she wanted to make the protest look worse than it was, to blame it on Donald Trump, and to score political points by calling it an insurrection. Post January 6, 2021, Pelosi and her party orchestrated the most public and useless Congressional Committee investigation in American history to try and make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. Every possible step was taken to find evidence to implicate Trump. No step was taken to investigate why Ray Epps was there or what motivated him to incite riot.

Canadians know a bit about rebellion. When Metis leader Louis Riel (in fact a Canadian patriot largely responsible for bringing Manitoba into Confederation) led an 1869 rebellion to protest transfer of Metis lands from Hudson Bay Company to the Dominion of Canada, he was vilified and forced to live in exile only to return to lead another rebellions in 1884 for which he was hanged in 1885. The “Riel Rebellion” as it was called culminated in the Battle of Duck Lake where 100 armed police officers and others attacked the Metis only to retreat after 3 officers and 9 others were killed.

I point out to Pelosi that “insurrections” involve violence and typically involve firearms used by the “insurrectionists” to try and overturn governments. They do not involve comedic protesters wearing silly costumes whose only crime was to enter the Capital buldings (which in fact belong to the people and not to their elected representatives).

The Democrats are so devoid of policy that the best they have to offer is a reprise of an overblown January 6, 2021 incident and a sustained attack on a former President. America will be better off when voters throw them out of office.
