Klaus Schwab, leader of the world economic forum (WEF) gave a chilling speech in which he said (as posted on Twitter by the WEF):
What did Schwab have in mind and why should we care?
First, Schwab joins a number of wealthy elites who subscribe to the idea that we need to form a global government - problems like COVID and “climate change” are global problems and arguably can only be resolved through global cooperation.
Justin Trudeau, a member of the WEF, seems to have agreed with Schwab. In a speech to the United Nations (often misquoted and misrepresented) Trudeau talked about how COVID was an opportunity for a reset. His subsequent interview with Global News is recorded on YouTube and here is a clip from the transcript of his words. While Trudeau did not refer to the WEF or Schwab, his words suggest he also saw COVID as “an opportunity for a reset” “to reimagine economic systems that actually address global challenges like extreme poverty and climate”. Those are his words as recorded on YouTube and transcribed on that site.
As best I can recall, the Prime Minister of Canada is not elected to solve global problems. The WEF solution to those global problems is evident in more of Schwab’s words: “By 2030, you’ll own nothing and be happy about it”.
Schwab touts his relationship with Justin Trudeau and claims that many of the Liberal cabinet members are also members of the WEF. Trudeau was delighted to host climate activist Greta Thunberg during her visit to Canada in 2019.
Thunberg has become more open about her motives for climate activism. It is all about bringing down capitalism.
The uproven theory that CO2 causes climate change is demonstrably flawed but has become the rallying cry for a global socialist government. While our Prime Minister has stopped short of calling for such a body, his words to the United Nations and the Global News interview provide some insight and suggest he would welcome such an initiative. Trudeau’s attack on the energy industry, promotion of the specious “global warming” or “climate change” theory at every opportunity, and, test use of the Emergency Act to quell a largely peaceful protest about vaccine mandates, all suggest he is headed in a direction that is inimical to the freedoms Canadians have enjoyed since Confederation.
COVID did Canadians a favour by exposing what may be a radical left-wing agenda to promote a socialist government. History has shown that governments can change quickly and that the shift from democracy to authoritarian rule can happen in a generation, as it did in Venezuela.
Socialism is promoted by socialists as a way to narrow income and wealth inequality, but has failed to do so anywhere socialist governments have existed. The idea sounds good but not good enough to attract popular support - in fact, socialist ideas are often called “ideas so good they have to be mandatory”. Migration patterns provide evidence of what political systems provide the greatest benefits and if socialism was the answer, you would expect the millions of people crossing the Southern border to enter United States to be migrating to China, Venezuela, Russia or Vietnam. I published a comparison of capitalist and socialist countries income inequality based on the Gini Coefficient (the most reliable measure of inequality) in an earlier article and it was clear that income inequality is less in capitalist regimes than socialist or communist systems.
Canadians can certainly vote in a socialist government and are entitled to support a Canadian political party that would join with other world leaders to form a global government of some form. But in my opinion, if you vote in socialism you will have to shoot your way out.
Great article.
I really like the subtle but powerful sentence:
As best I can recall, the Prime Minister of Canada is not elected to solve global problems.
...says it all doesn't it ...
